Born at Landstuhl in Germany, Daniel Blumenthal is of American origin. He started his musical studies when just shy of 5 years-of-age, and is a graduate of the University of Michigan (Bachelor of Music) and the Juilliard School of New-York (Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts).
Daniel Blumenthal is a laureate of several international competitions : Sydney and Leeds in 1981, Geneva and Busoni in 1982, and the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 1983.
Daniel Blumenthal enjoys an international reputation as soloist, concert musician and chamber artist. He is professor at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. In 1995 he was on the jury of the Queen Elisabeth Competition of Piano. He has recorded more than 60 compact discs.
