Yuzuko Horigome started learning the piano at the age of four; she began the violin the following year, with Ryosaku Kubota. In 1975 she continued her violin studies with Toshiya Eto, before graduating from the Toho Gakuen School of Music in 1980. That same year she became the first Japanese musician to win First Prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition. She has played with the Berlin and New York Philharmonic Orchestras, the London, Chicago, St Petersburg, Montreal, Vienna, and Tokyo Symphony Orchestras, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, La Scala (Milan), the RAI Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic, and the Camerata Salzburg. She has performed with prestigious conductors such as C. Abbado, A. Prévin, K. Masur, C. Dutoit, R. Chailly, E. Leinsdorf, S. Ozawa, I. Fischer, S. Rattle, A. Dimitriev, V. Ashkenazy, and S. Vegh. In chamber music she has played with M. Argerich, A. R. El Bacha, P. Rogé, W. Manz, G. Kremer, P. Graffin, T. Zehetmair, N. Imai, K. Kashkashian, M. Maisky, A. Meneses, and many others. Yuzuko Horigome has been and continues to be a guest at many international festivals, including Marlboro, Lockenhaus, Tanglewood, Musicfest La Jolla California, Lugano, and Buenos Aires. A guest teacher at the Brussels Conservatory, she is one of the most prominent soloists in Japan, where she tours for several months every year.

Yuzuko Horigome commence le piano à l’âge de quatre ans puis le violon l’année suivante, avec Ryosaku Kubota. En 1975, elle poursuit l’étude du violon avec Toshiya Eto, avant d’être diplômée de l’École de musique Toho Gakuen en 1980. La même année, elle est la première Japonaise à décrocher le Premier Prix du Concours Reine Elisabeth. Elle a joué avec les Philharmoniques de Berlin, de New York, les Symphoniques de Londres, Chicago, Saint-Pétersbourg, Montréal, Vienne, Tokyo, le Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam, l’orchestre de la Scala de Milan, l’Orchestre de la RAI, le Nouvel Orchestre Philharmonique du Japon, la Camerata de Salzbourg. Elle joint alors son talent à celui de chefs prestigieux comme C. Abbado, A. Previn, K. Masur, C. Dutoit, R. Chailly, E. Leinsdorf, S. Ozawa, I. Fischer, S. Rattle, A. Dimitriev, V. Ashkenazy ou S. Vegh. En musique de chambre, elle se produit aux côtés de M. Argerich, A.R. El Bacha, P. Rogé, W. Manz, G. Kremer, P. Graffin, T. Zehetmair, N. Imai, K. Kashkashian, M. Maisky, A. Meneses et bien d’autres. Yuzuko Horigome fut et est l’hôte de nombreux festivals internationaux: Marlboro, Lockenhaus, Tanglewood, La Jolla (Californie), Lugano ou Buenos Aires. Professeur invité du Koninklijk Conservatorium de Bruxelles, elle est l’une des solistes les plus en vue au Japon, où elle effectue des tournées plusieurs mois par an.

Yuzuko Horigome begon op vierjarige leeftijd piano te leren en een jaar later viool bij Ryosaku Kubota. Vanaf 1975 ging ze in de leer bij violist Toshiya Eto en in 1980 studeerde ze af aan de Toho Gakuen muziekschool. Datzelfde jaar won ze als eerste Japanse de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd. Op haar palmares prijken samenwerkingen met de Berliner Philharmoniker, het New York Philharmonic Orchestra, de symfonieorkesten van Londen, Chicago, Sint-Petersburg, Montréal, Wenen en Tokio, het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest van Amsterdam, het orkest van de Scala van Milaan, het orkest van de RAI, het New Japan Philharmonic en het Camerata Salzburg. Tijdens deze optredens koppelde ze haar talent aan dat van gerenommeerde chefs als C. Abbado, A. Previn, K. Masur, C. Dutoit, R. Chailly, E. Leinsdorf, S. Ozawa, I. Fischer, S. Rattle, A. Dimitriev, V. Ashkenazy en S. Vegh. In recital musiceerde ze onder andere met M. Argerich, A. R. El Bacha, P. Rogé, W. Manz, G. Kremer, P. Graffin, T. Zehetmair, N. Imai, K. Kashkashian, M. Maisky en A. Meneses. Yuzuko Horigome wordt vaak uitgenodigd op internationale festivals, waaronder die van Marlboro, Lockenhaus, Tanglewood, La Jolla (California) en de festivals in Lugano en Buenos Aires. Ze is gastdocente aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel en is een van de meest vooraanstaande solisten van Japan, waar ze meerdere maanden per jaar op tournee gaat.
