Anna Vinnitskaya was born in Novorossijsk, a Russian town next to the black sea, into a family of musicians. She got her first piano lessons at the age of six and played her first full solo recital at the age of nine. Three years later their family moved to Rostov on Don, so that she could study with Sergej Ossipenko at the Sergej Rachmaninov conservatoire. During a piano competition in the year 2001 Ralf Nattkemper invited her to the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg“. Since 2002 she has been studying there with Evgeni Koroliov.
Anna Vinnitskaya has received the “Leonard Bernstein Award” 2008 of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and she is the winner of the Queen Elizabeth Competition 2007 in Brussels. This was the last of various prizes she has won at international piano competitions. She won her first international piano competition in 1996 at the 3rd international youth competition in Moscow and is among others the winner ot the 44th “Premio Jaén de Piano” (Spain 2002) and laureate of the “Busoni” - competition (Bolzano/Italy 2005).
Anna Vinnitskaya has performed at several festivals, e.g. the Verbier-Festival, the Schleswig- Holstein Music Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Orpheum Musik Festival Zurich, the Davos Festival, the “Festival de Radio France“ Montpellier and the Lille Piano Festival. She has played in most European countries and the USA, Israel, Japan and Hong Kong. As from the 09/10 season she is going to perform for three seasons in the series “Junge Wilde” of the Konzerthaus Dortmund.
As a soloist, Anna Vinnitskaya has performed with such well-known orchestras as the Radio Symphony Orchestras of the NDR and the SWR, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Belgian National Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Radio Symphony Orchestra Moscow, the Symphony Orchestra Basel and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège. Conductors with whom she has worked include Vladimir Fedoseyev, Emmanuel Krivine, Kyrill Petrenko, Gilbert Varga, Dimitri Jurowski, Yoel Levi, Mikhel Kütson, Jürgen Küssmaul, Paul Goodwin, Pietari Inkinen and Pascal Rophé.
