Ilian Garnetz effectue ses études en Moldavie, à l’Académie de Chisinau sous la direction de B. Dubosarsky, avant de poursuivre sa formation en Finlande, à l’Académie Sibelius, auprès de A. Vinnitsky. Il se perfectionne chez Igor Oistrakh au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. Depuis l’âge de 9 ans, il a remporté de nombreux prix lors de compétitions nationales et internationales, et s’est ainsi distingué aux concours David Oistrakh (4e Prix en 2006 et 3e Prix en 2008) et Tibor Varga (1er Prix en 2008). Il s’est produit en Roumanie, Biélorussie, Ukraine, Russie, Pologne, Bulgarie, Allemagne, Espagne, France, Autriche, Finlande, Suisse, aux Pays-Bas et au Kazakhstan, et a joué avec des orchestres comme les Philharmoniques de Cluj, d’Istanbul ou de Zurich, sous la direction de chefs comme Ch. Escher, K. Kawamoto, G. Varga, Misa Katz, J. van. Zweden et P. Goodwin. En 2009, il reçoit le titre de "People's Artist of Moldova". En 2010, il a enregistré pour Fuga Libera des oeuvres de Schubert, Ysaÿe et Brahms avec la pianiste Alina Bercu.
Ilian Garnetz studeerde in Moldavië aan de Muziekhogeschool van Chisinau bij B. Dubosarsky en zette zijn opleiding verder in Finland aan de Sibeliusacademie bij A. Vinnitsky. Hij studeerde verder bij Igor Oistrakh aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel. Sinds zijn negende won hij talrijke prijzen op nationale en internationale muziekwedstrijden. Zo onderscheidde hij zich in de David Oistrakhwedstrijd (Vierde Prijs in 2006 en Derde Prijs in 2008) en de Tibor Vargawedstrijd (Eerste Prijs in 2008). Hij trad op in Roemenië, Wit-Rusland, Oekraïne, Rusland, Polen, Bulgarije, Duitsland, Spanje, Frankrijk, Oostenrijk, Finland, Zwitserland, Nederland en Kazachstan en speelde onder meer met de filharmonische orkesten van Cluj, Istanbul en Zürich, met dirigenten als Ch. Escher, K. Kawamoto, G. Varga, Misa Katz, J. van. Zweden en P. Goodwin. In 2009 werd hij onderscheiden met de titel van "People's Artist of Moldova". In 2010, heeft hij samen met pianiste Alina Bercu een opname gemaakt met werk van Schubert, Ysaÿe en Brahms voor het Fuga Libera Label.

He has taken a postgraduate course with Igor Oistrakh at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Starting at the age of nine, he has won many prizes at national and international competitions; he has distinguished himself at the David Oistrakh Competition (fourth prize in 2006 and third prize in 2008) and the Tibor Varga Competition (first prize in 2008). He has performed in Romania, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, France, Austria, Finland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Kazakhstan and has played with a number of orchestras, including the Cluj, Istanbul, and Zurich Philharmonics, with such conductors as Ch. Escher, K. Kawamoto, G. Varga, Misa Katz, J. van. Zweden, and P. Goodwin. In 2009 he received the title of People's Artist of Moldova. In 2010, Ilian Garnetz has made a Schubert, Ysaÿe & Brahms recording for the Fuga Libera Label with pianist Alina Bercu.
