Severin VON ECKARDSTEIN
[Retour]Severin von Eckardstein est originaire de Düsseldorf, où il a entamé ses études musicales. Il a ensuite étudié auprès de Karl-Heinz Kämmerling à Salzbourg et Hanovre et avec Klaus Hellwig à Berlin. Il s'est perfectionné à l'Académie International du Lac Como en Italie.
Il a été lauréat de plusieurs concours internationaux dont le Concours Steinway à Hambourg (1er prix en 1990), l'Incontro Internazionale Giovani Pianisti en Italie (1er prix en 1991), le Concours Feruccio-Busoni (1998), le Concours de l’ARD de Munich (2e prix en 1999), le Concours de Leeds (3e prix en 2000) et le Concours José Iturbi (2e en 2002).
Ses prix le conduisent dans les salles prestigieuses et aux grands festivals en Grande-Bretagne (Aldeburgh Festival), en Allemagne (Klavier Festival Ruhr, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival), en Autriche, au Canada (Centre Orford, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver), aux États-Unis (Gilmore Festival et Miami International Piano Festival), en Corée (Hoam Arts Hall à Séoul), en France (La Roque d’Anthéron), à Hongkong (Chopin Society), en Italie (Concerti del Tempietto à Rome, Festival Emilia Romagna), au Japon, au Liban (Festival Al Bustan), aux Pays-Bas, en Russie (Festival Olympus à Saint-Pétersbourg) et en Turquie (Festival d’Istanbul).
Severin von Eckardstein studeerde eerst in zijn geboortestad Düsseldorf en later bij Karl-Heinz Kämmerling in Salzburg en Hannover en bij Klaus Hellwig in Berlijn. Hij vervolmaakte zich aan de International Piano Academy Lake Como in Italië.
Hij is laureaat van talrijke internationale wedstrijden zoals de Hamburg Steinwaywedstrijd (1ste in 1990), Incontro Internazionale Giovani Pianisti in Italië (1ste in 1991), de Feruccio-Busoniwedstrijd (1998), het Concours van de ARD (2de in 1999), de wedstrijd van Leeds (3de in 2000) en het Concours José Iturbi (2de in 2002).

Severin von Eckardstein took his first piano lessons when he was six years old. At the age of 12 he was accepted into Barbara Szczepanska's young talent class at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf. During his school years, he continued his piano studies in Hannover and in Salzburg with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. After his graduation from high school, he attended the Universität der Künste, Berlin, to take lessons with Klaus Hellwig. Following his degree in 2002, he continued his studies at the International Piano Academy Lake Como, Italy.
Severin Von Eckardstein has won numerous competitions. Among these are the Hamburg Steinway Competition (1st prize in 1990), the Incontro Internazionale Giovani Pianisti in Italy (1st prize in 1991), the Feruccio-Busoni Competition in Bozen (1998), and the ARD Competition in Munich (2nd prize in 1999). In 2000, he received the third prize and in addition the special prize for best interpretation of contemporary music at the Leeds International Piano Competition.
He has played on many great stages in the world, including in Berlin, Munich, London, New York, Miami, Amsterdam (Meesterpianisten series at Amsterdam Concertgebouw), Tokyo and Seoul. Prestigious festivals have invited him, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, Klavier Festival Ruhr, Aldeburgh Festival, La Roque d’Anthéron and the Gilmore Festival and Miami International Piano Festival in the USA.
