Alexander GHINDIN
[terug]At age thirteen, pianist Alexander Ghindin won the Moscow Young Pianists' Competition. At fourteen he became the youngest pianist to ever win the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition and was invited to join the Moscow State Philharmonic as principal soloist.
He has performed as guest artist throughout his native Russia, Europe and Japan with numerous illustrious ensembles including the London Philharmonic, Orchester der Stadt Freiburg, the New Japan Philharmonic, Philharmonie de Liège, Flemish Radio Orchestra, the Swedish Royal Festival Orchestra, L'Orchestre National de Belgique, Rotterdam Symphony, Philharmonique de Monté Carlo, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Philharmonie de Luxembourgh, Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi, the St. Petersburg Camerata, the Russian National Orchestra and the Munich Philharmonic.
Early in 2005, Alexander Ghindin performed at Berlin's Konzerthaus where he performed Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 4 in g-minor with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra led by Maestro Eliahu Inbal.
He has collaborated with many of the world's most celebrated conductors including Vladimir Fedosseyev, Saulus Sandeczkis, Vasily Sinaysky, Yuri Simonov, Dimitry Kitaenko, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vladimir Spivakov, Paavo Järvi, Alan Gilbert, Leonard Slatkin, Artur Fagen, Tomasso Placidi and Thomas Zanderling.
Alexander Ghindin has performed as guest soloist with festivals such as La Roque d'Anthéron, the Montpellier Festival de Radio France, Le Châtelet de Paris, Auditorium du Louvre, the Sintra Festival in Portugal, Ruhr Klavier-Festival, Filharmonia Warscawa, the Osaka International Festival and countless others in Moscow, Stockholm, Echternach, Luxembourg, Colmar, Brussels, and Limoges.
He has performed in the world's great venues including London's Barbican, Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, Sumida Triphony Hall in Tokyo, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam; Salle Gaveau, Théatre des Champs Elysées and Théatre du Chatelet in Paris; Gasteig in Munich, Rudolfium in Prague, Riksallen in Stockhölm, the Teatro Olympico in Rome, the Tel Aviv Opera Theatre, and orchestra halls in Warsaw, St. Petersburg and the Moscow Conservatoire, to name but a few.
In the splendid world of chamber music, Mr. Ghindin has forged major collaborations with Vladimir Spivakov in concerts and recordings on the Capriccio label, and with Nikolay Petrov with whom he has performed almost all the repertoire for two pianos.
As a celebrated artist of international renown, Alexander Ghindin has recorded fifteen CDs including Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 4, in their original versions, with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra led by Vladimir Ashkenazy for Ondine. He has appeared on television and radio the world over.
