Née en 1980, la pianiste bulgare Plamena MANGOVA, Deuxième Prix du Concours Reine Elisabeth 2007, vient d'être saluée d'un Diapason d'Or de l'Année 2007 pour son premier CD. Elle exprime son bonheur de jouer dans un vaste répertoire, du baroque à la musique contemporaine, tant en concerto, en récital qu'en musique de chambre.
Depuis ses débuts à Paris au Théâtre du Châtelet (2000), Plamena MANGOVA a subjugué le public de salles de concerts telles que le Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), le Mozarteum (Salzbourg), la Philharmonie du Luxembourg, le Palais des Beaux-Arts, le Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie et Flagey (Bruxelles), l'Auditorium National (Madrid), le Palais de la Musique (Barcelone), l'Auditorium du Louvre, le Palais International de la Musique (Moscou). Elle est invitée par de prestigieux festivals internationaux, dont Festivals de Verbier & Academy, La Roque d'Anthéron, Montpellier, Menton, Santander, Riva del Garda, Klara Festival van Vlaanderen, Wallonie-Hainaut, Europalia, ainsi que la Série de concerts Bechstein & Steinway (Düsseldorf), la série "Fortis Private Concerts all over Belgium and abroad" et les Semaines musicales de Sofia.
En soliste d'orchestres de renom, Plamena MANGOVA s'est notamment produite avec le Sinfonia Varsovia, l'UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra, le European Union Chamber Orchestra, l'Orchestre National de Belgique, l'Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, le Dresden Philharmonic, le Northern Sinfonia of England, l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, le Youth Orchestra of the Americas, l'orchestre Les Siècles ou l'Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, sous la direction de chefs d'orchestre tels qu'Emmanuel KRIVINE, Walter WELLER, Augustin DUMAY, Peter CSABA, Jean- Bernard POMMIER, Gilbert VARGA, Pascal ROPHÉ ou François-Xavier ROTH. Chambriste hors pair, elle a joué notamment avec Maria João PIRES, Augustin DUMAY, Jian WANG, le Quatuor YSAŸE, Mihaela MARTIN, Christian IVALDI, Pascal MORAGUÈS, Marc COPPEY, Gabor BOLDOCZKI, Ronald VAN SPAENDONCK, Graf MOURJA…
Plamena MANGOVA a suivi l'enseignement du professeur Marina Kapatsinskaja en Bulgarie à l'Académie de Musique d'Etat de Sofia "Pancho Vladigerov". Elle a ensuite étudié à l'Ecole Supérieure de musique Reine Sofia de Madrid auprès de Dmitri BASHKIROV, puis avec Abdel- Rahman EL BACHA à la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth. En master-class, Plamena MANGOVA a reçu les conseils d'immenses musiciens, dont Krystian ZIMERMAN, Leon FLEISHER, Robert LEVIN, Aldo CICCOLINI, Andreas SCHIFF, Vadim REPIN, Igor OISTRAKH, Frans HELMERSON ou le Quatuor ARTEMIS.
Lauréate de la Fondation Juventus, Plamena MANGOVA a ainsi participé à la Carte Blanche à Maxim VENGEROV, au Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam. Lauréate du Concours International de Santander en 1998 et du Concours International de Musique de chambre Vittorio Gui de Florence, elle a reçu le Prix Granados attribué par Alicia DE LARROCHA.
Plamena MANGOVA a enregistré un hommage en diptyque à Chostakovitch (Fuga Libera). Le premier CD, pour piano solo, a été salué d'un Diapason d'Or de l'Année 2007. Le second unit la fougue musicale de Natalia Priscepenko (1er violon du Quatuor Artemis), de Sebastian Klinger (cello solo de l'Orchestre de la Radio Bavaroise) et de la soprano Tetyana Melnychenko. Son intégrale des oeuvres pour violon et piano de Prokofiev, avec Tatiana Samouil (Cypres), a obtenu Quatre Etoiles du Monde de la Musique. Son dernier CD Beethoven paraîtra en janvier 2008.
Les engagements majeurs de Plamena Mangova la mèneront entre autres à la Kölner Philharmonie, au festival La Folle Journée, au Théâtre de la Ville (Paris) ou au Festival Al Bustan (Liban).
Plamena MANGOVA, born in Bulgaria in 1980, won the Second-Prize of the 2007 Queen Elisabeth Competition. This award confirms her exceptional talent, which has just been recognised with a prestigious Diapason d'Or de l'Année 2007 for her first CD. Her wide repertoire spans the baroque to the contemporary, and it includes works for piano solo, chamber ensembles and concertos.
Plamena MANGOVA has performed many times as a soloist with distinguished orchestras: Sinfonia Varsovia, UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Luxemburg Philharmonic Orchestra, National Orchestra of Belgium, Dresden Philharmonic, Northern Sinfonia of England, Youth Orchestra of the Americas, Orchestre Philharmonic de Liège, Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie along with many others, under the direction of such conductors as Emmanuel KRIVINE, Augustin DUMAY, Walter WELLER, Jean-Bernard POMMIER, Peter CSABA, Gilbert VARGA, Pascal ROPHÉ, Arie VAN LYSEBETH. As a highly praised chamber musician, she has for instance performed with Maria João PIRES, Augustin DUMAY, YSAŸE QUARTET, Mihaela MARTIN, Christian IVALDI, Pascal MORAGUÈS, Marc COPPEY, Gabor BOLDOCZKI or Graf MOURJA.
Ever since her debut at the Théâtre Châtelet (Paris) in 2000, Plamena MANGOVA has overwhelmed audiences at many prestigious venues, including the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), the Mozarteum (Salzburg), the Luxemburg Philharmony, the Bozar Centre for fine Arts, Flagey and the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie (Brussels), the National Auditorium (Madrid), the Palace of Music (Barcelona), the Louvre Auditorium (Paris) and the International Palace of Music (Moscow). Furthermore, she has been invited to many prominent international festivals, such as the Verbier Festival & Academy, La Roque d'Anthéron, Santander, Radio-France Montpellier, Menton, Bechstein and Steinway Pianos concert series in Düsseldorf, Riva del Garda (Italy), Sofia Music Weeks. Following the Queen Elisabeth Competition, she has been invited to give a series of "Fortis Private Concerts all over Belgium and abroad".
Plamena MANGOVA's training includes studies with Marina KAPATSINSKAYA at the Pancho Vladigerov Sofia State Music Academy in Bulgaria. Afterwards she studied in Madrid at the Queen Sofia Higher Music School with maestro Dmitri BASHKIROV, and with Abdel-Rahman EL BACHA at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. In attending many masterclasses Plamena MANGOVA received sound advice from various masters on the international music scene, among whom were: Krystian ZIMERMAN, Leon FLEISHER, Robert LEVIN, Aldo CICCOLINI, Andreas SCHIFF, Vadim REPIN, Menahem PRESSLER, Igor OISTRAKH, Natalia GUTMAN, Frans HELMERSON, ARTEMIS QUARTET…
In July 2003, Plamena MANGOVA became Laureate of the Juventus Festival. This event marked the beginning of a wide range of projects. For example, she took part in the Carte Blanche for Maxim Vengerov at Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Laureate of the Santander Piano Competition and the Vittorio Gui International Chamber-Music Competition (Florence), she was also awarded the Alicia DE LARROCHA's Granados Prize.
Plamena MANGOVA recorded a Shostakovitch musical diptych for Fuga Libera. The first solo-piano CD was awarded a Diapason d'Or 2007. The second gathers the Russian soprano Tetyana MELNYCHENKO, Natalia PRISCEPENKO (leader of the ARTEMIS QUARTET) and Sebastian KLINGER (solo cello of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich). Her recording of Prokofiev's complete works for violin and piano with Tatiana SAMOUIL (Cypres) was awarded Four Stars in Le Monde de la Musique. Her last Beethoven CD is to be released in January 2008.
On her agenda are, among others, concerts at the Kölner Philharmonie, at La Folle Journée in Nantes and at the Theâtre de la Ville in Paris (in January and February 2008).

Daarbij heeft zij onder de leiding van verscheidene gerenommeerde dirigenten gewerkt, zoals Emmanuel KRIVINE, Walter WELLER, Augustin DUMAY, Gilbert VARGA, Jean-Bernard POMMIER, Peter CSABA, Pascal ROPHÉ en Arie VAN LYSEBETH. Als zeer geprezen kamermuzikante heeft zij onder meer samen gespeeld met Maria João PIRES, Augustin DUMAY, YSAŸE QUARTET, Mihaela MARTIN, Christian IVALDI, Pascal MORAGUÈS, Marc COPPEY, Gabor BOLDOCZKI en Graaf MOURJA.
Sinds haar debuut in het Châtelet Theater te Parijs in 2000, heeft Plamena MANGOVA het publiek op vele prestigieuze podia overweldigd, waaronder het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), het Mozarteum (Salzburg), de Filharmonie van Luxemburg, het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten van Brussel, de Munt en Flagey (Brussel), het Auditorium van het Louvre (Parijs), het Nationaal Auditorium (Madrid), het Paleis van de Muziek (Barcelona) en het Internationaal Paleis van de muziek (Moskou). Ze werd uitgenodigd op internationale festivals, waaronder Verbier Festival & Academy, La Roque d’Anthéron, Montpellier, Menton, Santander, Riva del Garda, het Klarafestival van Vlaanderen, het festival van Wallonië-Henegouwen, evenals "Fortis Private Concerts all over Belgium and abroad", de serie concerten van Bechstein en Steinway (Düsseldorf), en de Muziekweken van Sofia.
Plamena MANGOVA heeft haar opleiding in Bulgarije genoten bij professor Marina KAPATSINSKAJA aan de “Pancho Vladigerov” Staatsmuziekacademie van Sofia. Daarna studeerde zij in Madrid aan de Koningin Sofia Hogere Muziekschool bij Dmitri BASHKIROV en aan de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth bij Abdel-Rahman EL BACHA. Door haar deelname aan verscheidene masterclasses kreeg Plamena MANGOVA advies van grootheden in de internationale pianowereld, zoals Krystian ZIMERMAN, Leon FLEISHER, Robert LEVIN, Aldo CICCOLINI, Andreas SCHIFF, Vadim REPIN, Igor OISTRAKH, Frans HELMERSON en het ARTEMIS QUARTET.
In juli 2003 won Plamena MANGOVA de prijs van het festival Juventus. Deze prijs vormde de start van vele projecten. Zo nam zij bijvoorbeeld deel aan de ‘Carte blanche voor Maxim Vengerov' in het Concertgebouw van Amsterdam. Als laureate van de Santander Pianowedstrijd én van de internationale kamerorkestcompetitie Vittorio Gui (Florence), ontving zij bovendien de Granados Prijs, van Alicia DE LARROCHA.
Plamena MANGOVA nam een muzikaal tweeluik op als hulde aan Shostakovitch (Fuga Libera). De eerste solopiano cd werd bekroond met een Diapason d'Or van het jaar 2007. Op de tweede cd is zij samen te beluisteren met de Russische sopraan Tatiana MELNYCHENKO (leidster van het ARTEMIS QUARTET) en Sebastian KLINGER (solo cellist van het Beierse Radio Symfonie Orkest). Haar opnames van de volledige werken van Prokofiev voor viool en piano met Tatiana SAMOUIL (Cyprus) kregen vier sterren toegekend door Le Monde de la Musique. In januari 2008 zal Plamena MANGOVA een nieuwe cd met werken van Beethoven uitbrengen.
In 2008 zal Plamena MANGOVA onder meer te horen zijn op de fameuse podia van het Kölner Philharmonie, op La Folle Journée in Nantes en in het Theâtre de la Ville in Parijs (januari en februari 2008).
