Hannes Minnaar (1984) begon op zevenjarige leeftijd met pianospelen. Na lessen bij Marien van Nieukerken vervolgde hij zijn studie bij Jan Wijn aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam, waar hij in 2009 afstudeerde. Hij volgde master classes bij ondermeer Willem Brons, Pascal Devoyon, Menahem Pressler en Ferenc Rados. Daarnaast studeert hij sinds 2005 ook orgel bij Jacques van Oortmerssen aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Hannes Minnaar won prijzen bij diverse concoursen. Op het internationale Concours van Genève won hij in 2008 een tweede prijs (1e prijs niet toegekend) en de publieksprijs. In Nederland won hij prijzen bij o.a. de Rotterdamse Pianodriedaagse (1e prijs, publieksprijs, 1999) het Prinses Christina Concours (1e prijs, 2003) en het YPF Nationaal Pianoconcours (2e prijs, 2007). In 2010 werd hem de Elisabeth Everts-prijs voor uitzonderlijk jong talent toegekend. In 2011 ontving hij de prestigieuze Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship.
Hannes Minnaar treedt veelvuldig op in binnen- en buitenland. Zo speelde hij in het Amsterdamse Concertgebouw en het Gewandhaus in Leipzig, naast vele andere plekken in Europa, het Midden-Oosten en de Nederlandse Antillen. Hij soleerde bij diverse orkesten, waarbij hij samenwerkte met o.a. Nikolai Alexeev, Marin Alsop, Frans Brüggen, Alessandro de Marchi en Edo de Waart. Hij trad op tijdens het Grachtenfestival, het Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Utrecht en Festival Classique. Op uitnodiging van Simeon ten Holt gaf hij een recital met pianowerken van deze componist.
Ook als kamermusicus is Hannes Minnaar actief. Als lid van het Van Baerle Trio, dat in 2011 4 prijzen won op het Internationale Kamermuziekfestival van Lyon, toert hij langs de belangrijkste Nederlandse zalen. Hij werkte samen met musici als Janine Jansen, Mischa Maisky en het Parkanyi Kwartet.

Hannes Minnaar studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he graduated with an A plus distinction. He has played many solo recitals in Dutch halls and festivals, and made his international debut as a solo pianist at the Gewandhaus, Leipzig. Before his 18th birthday, he had made his debut with the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and Alessandro de Marchi. He played Beethoven’s fifth piano concerto with the orchestra of the Amsterdam Conservatory and Frans Brüggen, and with the Belgian National Orchestra under Nikolai Alexeev. His pièce de résistance is Saint-Saëns’s fifth piano concerto, which he performed with the Belgian National Orchestra and Marin Alsop, as well as with deFilharmonie, conducted by Otto Tausk and Edo de Waart.
In 2011-12 he will play a.o. Ravel’s piano concerto in G with Marc Soustrot, Beethoven’s fifth piano concerto with the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, and Rachmaninov’s third piano concerto.
He performs with his own Van Baerle Trio, which has won 4 prizes at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition in 2011. Janine Jansen invited him to the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht to perform with Mischa Maisky and herself.
At the international Concours de Genève he has been awarded the second prize in 2008. For 2011 he has gained a fellowship by the Borletti-Buitoni Trust.

Hannes Minnaar commence le piano à l’âge de 7 ans. Il étudie au Conservatoire d’Amsterdam, avec Jan Wijn pour le piano et Jacques van Oortmerssen pour l’orgue. Il suit également des master classes avec, entre autres, Willem Brons, Leon Fleisher, Menahem Pressler et Ferenc Rados. En dehors des divers prix qu’il remporte dans des concours nationaux (Rotterdamse Pianodriedaagse, Prinses Christina Concours, Vriendenkrans Concours), il obtient le 2e Prix au Concours International de Genève en 2008. Il s’est déjà produit en récital tant dans son pays natal qu’en Irlande, Allemagne (Gewandhaus, Leipzig) au Japon, au Moyen Orient et à New York. Il a travaillé avec différents orchestres sous la direction de Nikolai Alexeev, Marin Alsop, Frans Brüggen, Alessandro de Marchi et Edo de Waart et avec des musiciens tels que Janine Jansen, Mischa Maisky et le Parkanyi Quatuor. Avec son trio Van Baerle, qui a gagné 4 prix au Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon en 2011, il fait une tournée des grandes salles des Pays-Bas.
